    To clarify-- for RETIREMENT benefits, employees do not receive SS credit for time worked in PERA covered employment. If they work in SS covered employment, they can receive SS retirement benefits if they meet SS criteria (minimum time worked in SS system). They cannot "double-dip" and receive SS and PERA benefits for the same work.

    Disability benefits probably have different rules...
